For a smooth, small GIF
- Keep clips under 5 seconds so the file stays shareable
- Use 320 to 480px width for chat, email and social posts
- Set the frame rate to 10 to 12. Higher rarely looks better in GIF
- Scrub the preview to the right moment, then click "use playhead" to set the start
Avoid
- Full 10 second clips at 15 FPS on High quality. They produce very large files
- Widths above 600px unless you really need the detail
- Mixing portrait and landscape photos with Fill on. Switch to Fit to keep them whole
- Resizing an animated GIF. Only the first frame is kept

How long does it take to make a GIF?
Usually a few seconds. A 3 second clip at 320px width and 10 FPS finishes almost instantly. Longer clips, higher frame rates and larger widths take longer because every frame is rendered on your device.
Can I make a GIF from multiple images?
Yes. Add 2 to 20 PNG, JPG or WebP images, drag them into the order you want, then set the delay between frames from 100ms to 2000ms.
How do I make my GIF file smaller?
Lower the width, reduce the frame rate, or shorten the duration. Width has the biggest effect: a 320px GIF is roughly a quarter the size of a 640px one. For static images, use the Compress tool to pick a quality level.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
